John J. Heieck, M.D.
Dr. John Heieck attended medical school and completed his residency in general surgery at Creighton University. During his two year tour of duty in the United States Army, he conducted medical research in the field of trauma. Dr. Heieck completed his training in plastic surgery at Baylor University in Texas and has additional fellowship training in hand surgery. Dr. Heieck returned to Omaha in 1977, and has been providing care for the patients of our region since that time.
Dr. Heieck is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition to a busy practice in cosmetic surgery, he is also the surgical director of the cleft palate team at Boys Town National Research Institute. He is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at Creighton University and an instructor of surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He has written numerous articles in the medical literature regarding plastic surgery. He belongs to many medical societies which include the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the Lipolysis Society of North America, the Cleft Palate Association, the Nebraska College of Surgeons, the Metro Omaha Medical Society, and the Nebraska Society of Plastic Surgery.
John J. Edney, M.D.
Dr. John Edney is a native Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from medical school at Creighton University in 1976. He finished a five-year residency in general surgery at Creighton University and a fellowship in surgical oncology. His plastic surgery training was completed at the University of Pittsburgh where he remained for an additional fellowship in micro vascular surgery.
Dr. Edney returned to Omaha in 1983 and has been in private practice since. He is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. In addition to his practice in cosmetic surgery, Dr. Edney was named as chairman of a task force for the early detection of breast cancer by the Nebraska Chapter of the American Cancer Society. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Douglas County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, and recently coauthored a book entitled "Straight Talk About Breast Cancer."
Richard J. Bruneteau, M.D.
Dr. Richard Bruneteau is a native of Omaha, Nebraska. He attended medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Iowa, and he completed a two-year residency in plastic surgery at the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Bruneteau also completed a fellowship in micro vascular surgery at the University of California and a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
In addition to his practice in cosmetic surgery, Dr. Bruneteau is director of the craniofacial team at Children's Memorial Hospital. He is board certified in plastic surgery and general surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He belongs to the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Metro Omaha Medical Society. Dr. Bruneteau is a member of American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Marie E. Montag, M.D.
Dr. Marie Montag attended medical school and completed her residency in general surgery at Creighton University. She migrated to the University of Wisconsin in Madison to continue her training in plastic surgery for two years before studying Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic surgery for an additional year under Dr. Louis Morales in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Recently married, Dr. Montag has returned to Omaha after practicing with Heartland Plastic Surgery when she served as the director of Blank Children's Craniofacial Clinic in Des Moines, Iowa. She happily returned to her hometown of Omaha in November of 2000, to start private practice with Aesthetic Surgical Images, P.C. Dr. Montag is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Medical Woman's Association.
