Many women experience recurrent rashes or skin irritation in the folds of their breasts. Breast reduction surgery is performed to eliminate the physical stress of large breasts by surgically removing fat, glandular tissue and excess skin from the breasts. This procedure makes the breasts lighter, firmer and lifted. The size of the areola, the darker skin around the nipple, is usually reduced also.
Breast reduction surgery is often covered by insurance if it is deemed medically necessary. We will work with your insurance company to seek pre-authorization for the surgery. This process may take 4-8 weeks. Breast reduction surgery is usually done under general anesthesia as an out-patient surgery, and may take two hours.
Women with overly large breasts often experience persistent pain in their neck, back and shoulders. Physical activity is often hindered due to the size and weight of the breasts. In addition to the physical pain and discomfort many women become very self-conscious about their large breasts. Email Aesthetic Surgical Images Back to top
