| | | | | Patient Number 1: Breast Reduction | | Actual Patient -- Results vary from patient to patient | | | Notes: This patient is a 34 year old female from Arizona who presented to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice with complaints about oversized, asymmetric breasts and abdominal contour issues.
With regards to her breasts, this patient had significant physical symptoms such as back pain, neck pain, bra strap grooving, and shoulder pain. This patient also had difficulty finding bras and clothes that fit due to her large breast size and severe asymmetry.
With regards to her abdominal area, this patient had undergone a tummy tuck by another surgeon, and was unhappy with the excess fat and skin (dogears) in the love handle areas.
I recommended a breast reduction surgery using an anchor scar pattern in order to lift and reshape the breasts. I explained that despite her large size, I would be able to leave her nipples and areolas completely connected to the underlying breast tissue. I also recommended a revision of her abdominoplasty with both direct skin removal and liposuction of her flanks (love handles).
I performed a breast reduction and removed approximately 650 grams on the right and 450 grams on the left. After the breast reduction, I performed liposuction and skin resection of the flanks.
These postoperative photos were taken approximately 6 weeks after surgery. At this point, the patient had complete resolution of her physical symptoms, and was extremely happy with her improved appearance.

| | | | | Patient Number 2: Breast Reduction | | Actual Patient -- Results vary from patient to patient | | | Notes: This patient is a female in her late 50's from the Phoenix, Arizona area who presented to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice with complaints of back, neck and shoulder pain due to large breasts. She had undergone breast augmentation surgery many years earlier, and her breasts had grown significantly since that time. The patient wished to have her old implants removed and also wanted reshaping of her breasts.
For this patient, I recommended removal of her old implants, with further removal of her excess breast tissue and a vertical (lollipop scar) breast tightening and lift. I felt that this surgery would improve the appearance and proportion of her breasts, while alleviating her back and neck pain.
During surgery, I removed this patient's old implants, which were 250 gram silicone implants, and I further removed 50 grams of tissue from the right and 80 grams of tissue from the left breast. After this I performed a lollipop scar breast lift, avoiding a scar under the breasts.
The patient did extremely well after surgery, and noted immediate improvement in her physical symptoms of back and neck pain. She was extremely happy with the more proportionate and perkier appearance of her breasts.

| | | | | Patient Number 3: Breast Reduction | | Actual Patient -- Results vary from patient to patient | | | Notes: This patient is a 37 year old female from the Phoenix, Arizona area who presented to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice with interest in breast reduction. This patient had many classic symptoms of oversized breasts including back and neck pain, difficulty finding clothing that fits, and difficulty with exercise. The patient was also very unhappy with the droopy appearance of her breasts.
I felt this patient would be an excellent candidate for breast reduction surgery. I recommended laser-assisted breast reduction using an anchor scar skin resection pattern for the maximum lift in this particular patient.
I performed an anchor scar breast reduction, leaving the nipples completely attached to the breasts. After surgery the patient was very happy with her new breast appearance, and she also noted that she had a major improvement in her back and neck pain as well.

| | | | | Patient Number 4: Breast Reduction | | Actual Patient -- Results vary from patient to patient | | | Notes: This patient is a 51 year old female from the Peoria, Arizona area who presented to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice due to problems with her large breasts. This patient reported significant neck, back, and shoulder pain, bra-strap grooving, and difficulty with exercise or finding clothes that fit properly. This patient was also unhappy with the significant asymmetry of her breasts.
I felt that this patient would be an excellent candidate for breast reduction surgery, and due to her large size, I recommended a carbon-dioxide laser-assisted breast reduction to minimize bleeding during surgery.
I explained to the patient that she would NOT have to have her areolas removed, and that I would be able to perform the surgery leaving the nipples and areolas attached to the underlying tissue (a medio-superiorly based pedicle). I did explain that due to her size, I would need to perform an anchor scar reduction as opposed to a lollipop scar reduction.
Surgery went very well, and I removed approximately 570 grams of tissue from the right side and 390 grams from the left side. The patient noticed a huge improvement in her symptoms and appearance immediately after surgery. She is seen in the photos approximately 6 weeks after surgery, and is very excited and motivated to start a new diet and exercise plan now that her breasts are no longer an inhibiting factor.

| | | | | Patient Number 5: Breast Reduction | | Actual Patient -- Results vary from patient to patient | | | Notes: This patient is a 40 year old female from the Phoenix, Arizona area who came to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice with complaints about large, heavy breasts and loose skin of the abdominal region. This patient reported difficulty with certain exercises due to her breast size and was also self-conscious about the stretch marks and excess abdominal skin.
For this patient, I recommended a breast reduction surgery to lift and decrease the weight of her breasts, while reducing the size of her areolas at the same time. I suggested using a "vertical" or "lollipop scar" reduction technique to avoid scars under the breasts. For the abdominal area, I recommended a full abdominoplasty (tummy-tuck) with tightening of the abdominal muscles. I also felt that liposuction of the flanks (love handle areas) would further improve her appearance.
I performed a vertical breast reduction, a full abdominoplasty and liposuction of the flanks. The patient recovered extremely well without any postoperative issues. She is seen in the photos at 6 weeks after surgery, and she and her husband are both amazed by the incredible improvent in her physique.
