Breast reduction surgery removes excess breast tissue and reshapes the entire breast to a more appealing and flattering size. Patients considering this procedure should be aware that breast feeding may not be possible after the surgery due to alteration or removal of milk glands. The procedure does cause scarring, although care is taken to make sure that scars are placed where your undergarments and clothing normally cover the breast. Most women can return to work about two weeks after surgery. Recovery is gradual, with final results of the surgery apparent after six months to a year. Email Dr. McCormack Back to top
